Boasting some of the biggest names in the industry and encapsulating of the best performances i have ever seen from the likes of Matt Damon (Jason Bourne), Hong Chau (Market Hours), Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained) we bring to you a production that will not only leave in in absolute awe from start to finish, but one that also comes in very very close to home. While watching this movie, although it is a sci-fi masterpiece in nature i found it ringing not just some, but many bells in my own life. For the most part we, and myself included are living our lives doing things that don't truly make us happy, so that we can impress people that don't truly make us happy. It makes less than no sense at all, but social pressures get to us on every level. While this film is really is one of the funniest films i saw in latter part of 2017, and while it is satire in nature, the idea of capitalizing off being much smaller does actually appeal to me. Directed by the unusually intelligent Alexander Payne, and fabulously written by himself along with Jim Taylor, for the first time in a very long time i can honestly say that this is a film, that i would absolutely watch not only again, but a couple more times. The storyline is exceedingly original and the furthest thing for the slapstick Hunny I Shrunk The Kids. I was mesmerizingly enthralled from the beginning to the end and this, as a story will sit with you for some time after watching it. I just adore how they fused together the message of us as a society needing to stop focusing on the material side alone, and more on each other. Moreover, they way in which it was directed shone that broader message is such a comedic and uplifting way that just resonated with myself and my daughter in ways that i cannot quite put into words. Highly entertaining and of the best screenplay from 2017!
